Music can make or break your Indie film, TV show or web series.  Getting the right music means working with composers, music supervisors and/or licensing  library tracks. Learn the secrets from a stellar group of veteran composers and music supervisors who will walk you through the creative, technical and business aspects including: choosing music style/tone, spotting, orchestration, performers, post production, costs, licensing, collaborative process and more.


  Richard Gibbs – Composer, Producer, Performer, 60+ feature films & TV (Simpsons, BattlestarGalactica, The Muppets, OingoBoingo, Robert Palmer,Dr. Dolittle, Queen of the Damned.

  John Jones  – Grammy Winning Producer, Performer for Duran Duran, Fleetwood Mac, Celine Dion. Composer: Puzzle in the Air(David Carradine) and Hot Money(Orson Welles).

  David Weitzman– Music Supervisor TV shows, commercials, andfilms since 1999 for E!, MTV, NBC, Paramount and others. Credits include: Jackass the Movie.

 Sean Fernald–Music Supervisorand Licensing music for film and soundtracks, with 15 years of at major record labels, including MCA Records, Virgin Records, Capitol Records and Sony Music. He also produced several horror films.

  Anna Granucci - Music Supervisor &Producer. Music Supervised Guns, Girls & Gambling (Gary Oldman, Christian Slater), Nomads (Lucy Liu),Free Ride (Anna Pacquin, Drea De Matteo).

  MJ Mynarski – Composer on 5 features and over 30 shorts including American Psycho (Christian Bale) and Holy Rollers(Jesse Eisenberg).



  Steven Swimmer – Pioneering Web & Digital Media Strategist, Indie Producer.Former Director Online Content at Fox Broadcasting, Standup Comedian.



Richard Gibbs – composer, producer and musical innovator.

What do the Simpsons, BattlestarGalactica, The Muppets, OingoBoingo, Robert Palmer and Dr. Dolittlehave in common?  Richard Gibbs, composer, producer and musical innovator.

 The 60+ feature films he has scored have cumulatively grossed well over 1 billion dollars in global box office while benefiting from his freethinking compositions. His heart-crushing, epic score for Queen of the Damned, written and produced in collaboration with Korn lead singer Jonathan Davis, combined a non-traditional 105 piece symphonic orchestra with head-banging guitars and songs of otherworldly vampiric beauty. Gibbs’ reinvention of the musical sounds of space helped propel the re-imagined BattlestarGalactica series to huge commercial and critical success. He set the sound for the Simpsons, scoring the first season of that groundbreaking series.


John Jones  – Musician, writer, composer, programmer, engineer & producer

JJ has composed, performed and produced scores, songs, and sound effects, for a number of feature films, television shows, and commercials, including as composer for "Puzzle in the Air"  (David Carradine) and "Hot Money" (Orson Welles), as well as for creating sounds for the Ewoks in "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi." As a musician, writer, composer, programmer engineer and producer, he’s worked with impressive acts from Fleetwood Mac to Rational Youth amongst others.


David Weitzman – Senior Director of Business Development and Operations, ole,

David brings to ole over 15 years of experience in the music business ranging from A&R and radio promotion to digital music development and distribution to music supervision.

Over the last eight years, David has been music supervisor on a wide variety of programs including Party Monsters for E! Networks; Rob and Big, Runs House, Yo Mama and Wildboyz for MTV Networks; Victoria Beckham Coming to America for NBC Networks; Jackass the Movie for Paramount Pictures; High School Reunion for WB Burbank; and many Indie projects.


Sean Fernald – VP Licensing & Creative, Opus 1 Music

With over fifteen years of major record label experience as an executive with MCA Records, Virgin Records and Sony Music,  Steven Fernald has extensive experience licensing music for film and soundtrack compilation projects. Sean Fernald is also a voting member of NARAS (National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences) and The Guild of Music Supervisors, and has produced several horror films including Red Velvet and Xombie.


Anna Granucci – Music Supervisor & Film Producer, Scene Tracks Music Anna Granucci began her journey with live theatre. She is professionally trained in both acting and directing in England and the US where she graduated from the MFA program at the Yale
 School of Drama. Anna’s potent theatrical background informs her music tastes and decisions for use in film, TV and all forms of visual media. Her most recent projects and film credits include the highly anticipated release of GUNS, GIRLS & GAMBLING staring Gary Oldman and Christian Slater, NOMADS starring Lucy Liu, 3 consecutive films with director Brett Donowho: SILVER FALLS, THE SACRED and 5 SOULS, and producer Eric Beck’s VILE. Presently, she is in post production with the film FREE RIDE directed by Shana Sosin, starring Anna Pacquin and Drea De Matteo, BESTIES directed by Rebecca Cutter, ALTERED REALITY directed by Autumn deVitry and Jeff Probst’s KISS ME. Anna is recognized by many directors and producers as a true artistic music tastemaker. She has participated on both foreign and domestic film music panels as an ongoing invited guest speaker on the topic of Music Supervision for film in Iceland at the Icelandic Airways Festival and Icelandic Film Festival, Pitch-A-Song Music Conference in the US, 2011 and 2012 UK’s BPI/UKTI Music Film Panel at Capitol Records, where she conducted a live film music spotting session. Furthermore, she was a panelist at the 2011 Billboard Hollywood Reporter Film Conference where she spoke on the uses of music in film from a directors’ perspective, as well as critique music from a select group of artists. In 2012, Anna was an invited guest panelist at Variety Magazine’s ASCAP Expo for Film for Screens in April where she created the conference curriculum and a re-invited guest by the UK Government Film music conference also held in April 2012.


MJ Mynarski – Composer, writer, performer

Specializing in what he calls “the big sound of the small ensemble” MJ’s music is mostly recording with live musicians. He has composed music for 5 feature films including American Psycho directed by Mary Harron and Holy Rollers directed by Kevin Asch and starring Jesse Eisenberg. MJ has also composed music for over 30 short films, an Emmy Nominated PSA and has had films featured in Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca, Los Angeles, SxSW and Berlin film festivals. MJ is also a songwriter and was on the shortlist for Best Original Song Academy Award for “Darkness Before the Dawn” from the film Holy Rollers.

Steven Swimmer – Digital Strategist & Producer

Steven Swimmer is an innovative media professional with deep experience in the fields of Web, Digital Media, Marketing and Motion Pictures. Swimmer currently provides digital strategy, production and marketing consulting to SMBs, multinationals in entertainment, communications, the arts and retail spaces.  

Swimmer has done done a variety of work from being a director of online content at Fox Broadcasting, to being web producer and strategist at the J.Paul Getty Trust, to being a co-producer of hit independent film, Gabriela. Swimmer also spends his spare time as a stand up comedian at the Comedy Store.
