Directors helm any production being shot, and whose vision shapes what ultimately becomes the finished film or television series.  Find out from these Hollywood professionals how to get the most out of your crew and get the best performance from actors. Hear them talk about the new challenges in Digital and in Distribution. Ask questions at the end on the use of storyboards and pre-production and how to map out shots.


  Jerry London (Shogun, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, JAG)  - After three and a half decades of committment and dedication, the name “Jerry London” has become synonymous with “excellence”. A film director, who’s professionalism is the hallmark of his work, his outstanding success with “Shogun,the twelve hour mini-series”, which won him the best director's award from the Directors Guild of America, has garnered him directorial prominence on an international scale.

Among his previous directing accomplishments are, the critcally acclaimed 3-hour special “The Scarlet and the Black” starring Gregory Peck,  as well as Sidney Sheldon’s “If Tomorrow Comes”,  “Ellis Island,“starring Richard Burton and Faye Dunaway, Chiefs” starring Charleton Heston, and “Wheels”, starring Rock Hudson and Lee Remick. He also has directed over forty movies of the week for television.  He has worked with twenty-five academy award winning actors, and has directed over 400 hours of series television Jerry is currently developing  two  Independent features now, "Barnaby" and  "Booker."

  Tin Cesa Ward - TINA CESA WARD is a writer and director for the screen, web and also directs for the stage.  She won the Jean Dalrymple Award for stage direction of Freak Show.Ward’s short film In Their Absence has been awarded five times both domestically and abroad and was named one of the best short films of the decade by Festival de cortos MíraLes in 2011.  As the Executive Producer/Writer/Director of the extremely popular web series Anyone But Me, Ward won the first ever Writers Guild Award for Original New Media.  She also brought home an IAWTV Award for her writing work for Anyone But Me.  Ward has been nominated several times for her directing work including a Streamy Award nomination and an IAWTV nomination. Ward also directed the successful branded web series, Bestsellers.  And in 2011 Ward debuted the dramatic miniseries Good People in Love. Hailed by DIGIDAY as “…a new milestone for online video series.” Ward is currently developing new projects for the web and screen including the much anticipated web series Guards of Dagmar.

  Perry Lang (Alias, Everwood, Weeds, NCIS : Los Angeles)  Starting to work as an actor at 17, Perry Lang has acted in more than 30 films, and over 70 hours of television. As a writer & director, Perry started professionally writing doing Tales from the Darkside in New York. From there, Perry has directed more than 60 hours of television, including NYPD Blue, ER, Weeds, Alias and NCIS: Los Angeles.  

  Yasmin Ozary Schryer - Ms. Schryer currently lives in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel, and acquired her cinematographic education at the Department of Film and Television, Tel Aviv University.  Recently, Yasmin worked as the chief-producer of the 40th-year celebration of that department. She has written and directed a pilot for a drama series, along with several short films and documentaries, which include: “Imprisoned” and “the creators”. Currently, Yasmin is working on developing ”Imprisoned” into a TV drama.   

  Scott Brown

Scott Brown is a writer/director currently focusing in the digital space whose work has been screened from LA, to New York, and Cannes. In 2010 Scott directed a 6 episode dramatic web series called Asylum which was acquired by BET digital for a second season and currently plays on HULU.  Now he writes and directs content for Youtube Premium Channels as well as other online destination websites while continuing to make ancillary content for existing traditional media.   Marquette Williams (Partner/Managing Direcotor, Greenhouse Studios)

Marquette Williams, Co-Owner, Writer & Director for Greenhouse Studios, wrote and directed, the feature film “Unspeakable”. He produced and directed the  documentary “Buckle Brothers”. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1995. He began his career with Orchin Productions, developing content for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Cadillac/General Motors, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and the Walt Disney Company. At present, he is busying himself with preproduction for the feature film “Dead Recon”, development of “Pangea 7015” and “Carried By 6”. Prior to his film career, Mr. Williams was a manager for 20th Century Fox’s network engineering and operations for ten years, overseeing the daily operations of media content for clients such as NASCAR, Universal, National Geographics, Fuel TV, Fox Sports, Fox Latin American Channels, Speed Channels, FX and reality TV.
